Catching up with Shalom Suniula

The Men’s Eagles put an end to their summer test series and the recent history of Canadian dominance with an emotional and thrilling 38-35 victory over their North American neighbor. After the big win, we caught up with Eagle flyhalf  Shalom Suniula at the Serevi Headquarters and talked rugby, life in Seattle, work at Serevi, and more.

You just moved to Seattle. How is it? What’s been your favorite part so far?

Tell us what you have been up to at the Serevi Rugby Institute. How is training going? What are you working on at the SRI sessions?

How did it feel to be a part of ending the Eagle’s long losing streak to Canada? Do you think you would have played different had you known about the teams’ history?

What are you plans for the 7s season this summer? Will you be playing for Seattle Rugby Club? Will you be going to World Club 7s with the Seattle all-stars?

How do you feel about coaching and working at Serevi Rugby where you are surrounded by like minded coworkers, dedicated to the same things on and off the field? Do you think coaching make you a better player?

You have experience playing in other countries. What is it you enjoy about American Rugby?
