12 Stops in 10 Cities Highlight USA Rugby & Serevi’s 2014-15 High Performance Training Camp Series

Serevi Rugby releases full schedule of high performance camps to build skills and ID potential national team talent alongside USA Rugby coaches

[bra_dropcaps style=’dropcap1′]S[/bra_dropcaps]EATTLE – (September 22, 2014) – As part of the USA Rugby Academy powered by Serevi, today Serevi Rugby® (serevirugby.com) released the full schedule for the 2014-15 High Performance Training Camp Series which reaches athletes through 12 stops in 10 cities. In the second year of a multi-year partnership to grow the game of rugby in America, Serevi and USA Rugby will run a national network of Training Camps to help identify and train the country’s best young men and women, providing an additional development pathway to the U.S. National XVs and 7s Teams.
[bra_blockquote align=”]Our first year of powering the USA Rugby Academy was a huge success, so we’re set on bringing back our Training Camps to many of the same cities, but also some new hotbeds for American rugby in order to find and develop the nation’s best young players. Player feedback from year one of our partnership was amazingly positive, with young men and women of all levels improving their games and hungry to come back for more” Ross Young – CEO, Serevi Rugby[/bra_blockquote]
Last year more than 1800 athletes representing 35 different states and 215 clubs participated in Serevi’s USA Rugby Academy programs. U.S. National Team coaches identified seven players during last year’s camps that were invited to train at National Team Camps and compete on high school and collegiate All-American tours. Numerous other young men and women were pointed into further development camps through Serevi programming, went onto collegiate rugby programs, or fed into local clubs to continue their development.
[bra_blockquote align=”]As we saw in year one, the Serevi powered Academy camps are helping identify and develop players around the country, augmenting USA Rugby’s high school, college, and club competition pathways. As our performance model continues to strengthen through partnerships like Serevi, we expect to discover more and more talent, while simultaneously deepening the overall pool of XVs and 7s players in America.” Alex Magleby – National Sevens Director, USA Rugby[/bra_blockquote]
